TRUNK(HOTEL) is a Japanese boutique hotel brand that launched its first hotel in May 2017 in Jingumae, Shibuya. It was created around the concept of Socializing: “for people to be able to realistically and easily make substantial social contributions through their daily lives”. In 2019, TRUNK(HOUSE) was opened as an exclusive whole-house rental in a renovated former geisha training hall in Kagurazaka. In 2023, the new TRUNK(HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK opened in Tomigaya, Shibuya. TRUNK(HOTEL) offers one-of-a-kind luxury experiences by creating properties unique to their locations.

TRUNK UNVEILS NEW YOYOGI PARK HOTEL 

Now open to visitors, the TRUNK hospitality group unveils its third location in the Japanese capital - TRUNK(HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK. Built on a philosophy that firmly roots each site within its local community, TRUNK aims to offer guests an immersive experience of some of the most vibrant neighbourhoods in Tokyo. Set just walking distance from the heart of the bustling Shibuya district, the new hotel is embedded in the stylish and relaxed residential neighbourhood of Tomigaya - conveniently situated to offer visitors an authentic local experience in one of Tokyo’s most engaging areas, packed with shopping, entertainment, dining, and sight-seeing opportunities. Finding a unique niche between the large hotel chains of the wider Tokyo area, the boutique 1499m² hotel is designed to fit seamlessly into the spirit of the district, featuring a laid-back, human-centric program, and aesthetic choices that echo the easy-going, yet sophisticated atmosphere of the neighbourhood. Having decided to work with a local studio for the project, TRUNK commissioned Tokyo-based Keiji Ashizawa Design to oversee the architecture and interior design throughout, assigning responsibility for sketches, renderings, and site supervision. Working alongside the TRUNK in-house creative team, TRUNK Atelier, the Keiji Ashizawa Design team also led the development of custom lighting and furniture designs, bespoke components and materials.

TRUNK TO OPEN NEW HOTEL IN YOYOGI PARK, TOKYO, IN AUTUMN 2023

Built on a philosophy that values fostering relationships with society, TRUNK offers guests an immersive experience of the most vibrant neighbourhoods in Tokyo. Now the group is set to open its doors to a third location in Tokyo, Japan, in Autumn 2023, just five years after the launch of its first property, TRUNK(HOTEL), in Shibuya. Located in the trendy and sophisticated neighbourhood of Tomigaya, known for its relaxed and calm atmosphere TRUNK(HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK will be conveniently situated to offer visitors a localised experience of Tomigaya’s array of coffee shops, eccentric fashion stores, and traditional tofu shops. Just walking distance from the heart of the Shibuya district, visitors will also be able to easily explore one of Tokyo’s most engaging areas, packed with shopping, dining, and sight-seeing. YOYOGI PARK will feature a relaxed 'Japandi' aesthetic, and showcase unique and bespoke designs by local emerging creators. Fit with a rooftop pool and bar, guests will have the option to dine at the hotel restaurant or simply unwind poolside whilst enjoying 360-views of Yoyogi Park - one of Tokyo’s largest city parks, featuring vast greenery, ponds, forested areas, and blossom trees.
